About Us
Founded in 2020 and based in Harare, Zimbabwe, Zimtrek Travel was born from a deep belief that Africa’s most extraordinary experiences deserve to be explored with insight, care, and purpose. What began as a locally focused travel agency curating meaningful journeys across Zimbabwe during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic has since evolved into a trusted specialist in bespoke African travel.

From the thundering majesty of Victoria Falls and the wildlife-rich plains of Hwange National Park, to the raw wilderness of Mana Pools, the tranquil waters of Lake Kariba, the misty Eastern Highlands, and the ancient stone walls of Great Zimbabwe, our roots are firmly grounded in intimate destination knowledge. As global travel reopened, Zimtrek expanded its expertise beyond borders, designing tailor-made journeys across Southern and East Africa, including Botswana, Zambia, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, and Kenya.

Zimtrek Travel is led by its founder and Managing Consultant, Peter Bwawa, a travel and hospitality professional with over a decade of industry experience.

Peter’s career has been shaped by a passion for service excellence, an eye for detail, and a deep understanding of what discerning travellers truly value.

Known for his calm, consultative approach, Peter is closely involved in the design of every journey, ensuring each itinerary reflects both the client’s aspirations and the realities on the ground. His commitment to quality, transparency, and value for money underpins Zimtrek’s operating philosophy and has earned the trust of travellers and partners alike.
